Choosing a care home

Choosing a care home is never an easy decision regardless if it is for you or some close friend or family member. It is important that you consider all the relative information and speak with people and organisations that you trust. We have listed below some considerations which we think are helpful in making the right choice.

Visiting

Visiting the care home is by far the best way to get a sense if it is right for you. You will get the opportunity to meet the care staff and see first hand if the place is to your liking. It will allow you to meet the other people who live there and afford you the opportunity to consider if they are people you can spend time with. The care homing staff will be able to advise regards the many services they provide e.g. meals, bedrooms, social activities, minibus, outings, etc. This will ennbaqkle you to experience first hand and give you a personal feel if it is for you ( initial impressions and gut feeling are important!)

Care Home Fees

Care Home fees can vary significantly depending on many factors e.g location, complexity of care required, facilities available, etc. It is important that you ask how much the cost of your care home place will be to ensure that it is affordable. Each care home fees are different. At Jordanhill Care Home you will be glad to know that the care home fee rate is highly competitive and priced to ensure that people get the best value for money and a great service at a time of need. Our Manager will be more than happy to assist you with any financial questions you may have. Financial assistance is often made available by the authorities for people who require.
